Welcome to the homepage of Westmac.
We have been proud Working Line German Shepherd breeders since 2015, and have a depth of knowledge for working GSD's and their pedigrees.
Whilst we mainly focus on breeding Working Line German Shepherds, we also have small breed litters occasionally too!
We have travelled the world watching working competitions and training with our own dogs for over 15 years. We have also competed at World Level on two occasions in the sport of IGP with dogs from our kennel, and we love to bring our hobby sport and passion for breeding together in the puppies we produce.
We love to aim for our puppies to be the perfect working partner. We believe in trying to aim to breed the all round GSD, bred for their health, temperament and also working ability. Our aim is to create genetically happy and balanced puppies that their owners can confidently take home and put to whatever kind of life is expected of them, be that as a working partner, or as an active pet.
A good socially balanced dog starts with the right genetics, and at Westmac we believe that breeding from the correct dogs is key to achieve this across all our litters.
All our dogs are our pride and joy, and put quite simply, our life is lived to best suit them!
Responsible Breeding
It has NEVER been as important as it is now that people are choosing to buy from responsible breeders.
Too many people are just putting dogs together and creating puppies for the wrong reasons. Responsible breeding starts with the dogs you choose to breed from, that they are proven and health tested to acceptable standards to help select them as good enough to breed from.
If a breeder isn't producing puppies of a certain standard with an aim or purpose then should they really be breeding?
All our dogs always get the very best of everything, they enjoy regular Hydrotherapy sessions, get the best food, regular grooming and regular trips to exciting places with us so they can be trained in order to test their genetic strengths and weaknesses.
We spend many hours selecting pairings and stud dogs for their genetic potential, and we look at what the strengths and weakness are over our females to try to produce better puppies with every generation.
Once matings are chosen and the puppies are here we are totally dedicated to every single puppy we raise. All our puppies once old enough (4-8 weeks) meet people, have trips in the car, meet all our other dogs, explore outside and hear all the noises of life!
Socialisation starts in the whelping den and it is SO IMPORTANT to make the most of this time!
We stay in touch with all our puppy owners and we are so proud that every single puppy is confident, happy and the apple of their owners eye!
All our puppies come with a full puppy pack, lifetime support for any training issues and a contract of sale. We will stand by every single puppy we breed, and if ever they cannot stay with their owners we insist that they come back to us, true breeders will remain responsible for the lives they create if ever life means that they cannot stay in their chosen home.
If more breeders did this there would be little need for rescues!

Regular Hydrotherapy
All our dogs enjoy regular Hydrotherapy sessions in our very own Underwater Treadmill Unit here on site (WESTMAC CANINE THERAPIES). This not only keeps them in peak physical condition for breeding and competing, but also provides an amazing form of mental stimulation which is absolutely essential in their welfare and happiness too!
6 Acres of Private Paddocks
Our dogs enjoy running the beautiful fields on our country property.
Exercise and running up and down the welsh hills keeps all our dogs in tip top condition.
IGP Sports Training
All our German Shepherds train in the sport of IGP, this helps us to see their genetic strengths and also their weaknesses too!
By learning all about our dogs through their work we can plan our breeding program to bring the very best to the next generation.
