"We’ve had five German Shepherds over the years and I have trained all of them to compete in
Working Trials, three of them successfully competing at Championship level. After swapping breed
to Border Collies in recent years, I decided that I really wanted another Shepherd so the search for a
reputable breeder began. I looked at dogs currently competing and spoke to people whose
knowledge and experience I trusted. I started to hear very positive things about Evie and Westmac.
Having experienced various health issues with my earlier Shepherds, I was looking for certain
characteristics in a new puppy. I was happy to wait however long it took to find exactly what I was
looking for. I spoke to Evie a few times and was reassured that she was dedicated to breeding well
and finding exactly the right owners for her puppies.
I knew that I wanted a sable coated dog, dark if possible, and not oversized for working. I was
pleased when Evie told me that I could have a puppy from the recent N litter and immensely chuffed
that I had the pick of the five boys.
At the puppy party with the other prospective owners, Evie and Ricky gave us so much information
and guidance, we were able to ask questions and to see all the pups and their parents. Evie also sent
videos of the pups responding to various scenarios, which was interesting and informative.
However, I still couldn’t actually make my mind up but Evie was kind enough to let us go back to look
at the three pups I wanted to see again. Apologies to the other prospective owners for taking so
long about it!
So now we have Woody. He’s full on, feisty and confident but so happy to learn and experience
things. He loves people and enjoys meeting other dogs; he’s been to the pub and behaved himself
well (all our dogs learn about going to the pub and how to behave there). We entered him in the
Cutest Puppy class at a dog event near us a couple of weeks ago and he threw himself into it all with
great enthusiasm. He wasn’t exactly that cute but managed 3 rd place, mainly, I think, for his
exuberance in playing to the audience – but we were very proud!
He can be a little thuglet at times and I won’t go into details about the changes he’s made to the
décor in our dog room, but I’m sure he was the right little boy for us. Thank you Evie for letting us
have him, we’re very lucky."

“I’d been following Westmac on social media for a while, I loved Evie’s dedication and knowledge about the breed! I’d always loved watching igp and was finally in a position to start my igp journey, so after years of having showline gsds and rotties I knew I wanted a working line, I knew Westmac was at the top of my list but wanted to look around, I was lucky enough to meet 2 Westmac dogs and that’s what sealed the deal for me.
I contacted Evie and we had lots of communication, Evie then contacted me to say I was 2nd on the list for a male from the ‘L’ litter. I was over the moon, from birth until the day I picked up my puppy Evie’s dedication and work that went into the puppies was outstanding.
I was able to watch the puppies journey in the Facebook group for the litter along with the other puppy owners. When it came to choosing a puppy I took Evie’s opinion and advise on board she was aware of my lifestyle and that I wanted to do igp.
Maverick is everything I dreamed of, hes sociable but great in his work. We are enjoying our igp journey, he always gets lovely comments from people and think that’s lovely feedback for Evie as a breeder.

We had been researching responsible Working Line GSD breeders for quite some time. Each time we looked online, we found ourselves back at Westmac again!
Westmac ticked every box for us being experienced and responsible breeders, and true dedication, and although we live in N.Ireland, we decided Westmac was where we wanted our dog to be from.
Evie was fantastic right from the start and helped make the trip from N.Ireland run smoothly. She really was with us every step of the way.
Each litter has a Facebook group, which means you get regular updates on how the litter is doing and what they are getting up to!
Evie puts so much work into the pups, from socialising with other dogs, people and children, to getting the pups used to loud noises. All these things make a huge difference, and Wolf is very confident and happy boy.
I would not hesitate in recommending Evie and Westmac, and we are delighted with Wolf and how well he has settled into our family.

Well, what a whirlwind 10 months it’s been with Westmac Melys Sobek (M litter)!
I’d started to train in IGP with my rottie girl who is very much a pet dog who tries her best. I am completely hooked on IGP and so started to think about a working line dog. I had previously heard of Westmac dogs and also a couple of people I train with had 1 year old Westmac dogs and they were looking really nice. So I contacted Evie and pleaded my case!!
I was so excited to hear the news last December that I could choose one of the males from Delta x Tarot litter, and I must have driven Evie mad wanting news about the 2 boys. Evie is such an amazing breeder and really takes the time to get to know the prospective puppy owners and what they want from their puppy. The socialisation and temperament assessment work that Evie does and the puppy party she holds means she is able to pretty much pair each puppy with their owners, taking input from us of course.
I am so happy with my boy Sobek, he’s such a good-natured and confident dog, who is also respectful of other dogs, and his work ethic is everything I wanted. It’s been a bit of a shock to the system dealing with his speed - he is literally like a rocket- definitely takes after his dad Tarot!!
Evie has been supporting the whole litter group in every way she can - when she says owners become part of the family she 100% means it.
I absolutely would not hesitate to recommend Westmac GSDs to others, it would be a tough job finding a better, more ethical, committed breeder than Evie, and she her absolute priority is the dogs welfare.

“We are first time dog owners and couldn't be more delighted with our experience of getting our dog from Evie!
We did a lot of research online and spoke to friends and neighbours who have dogs before deciding to get a German Shepherd dog. Likewise, the process of deciding with which breeder to go with took careful consideration and initially we joined a few different waiting lists. We kept a close eye on the breeders' websites and social media posts and soon it became clear to us that Westmac stands out from other breeders!
When we joined one of Evie's Facebook litter groups as guests and could observe the care, dedication, love and knowledge that went into raising these puppies we knew that we would happily, and excitedly, wait as long as it takes for us to get a Westmac puppy.
Being first time dog owners, we were initially nervous to approach working line breeders, but Evie made us feel like we could ask any question no matter how basic.
Being part of the 'N Litter' group was also great, not just for the regular (p)updates, photos and videos Evie posted but also in terms of having a group of 'expectant' new owners with whom to share the exciting journey of getting a puppy.
We were very fortunate that we had second pick of the five boys in the litter. After attending the puppy party when the puppies were six weeks old, we had a few clear favourites.
The 'scenario' videos Evie posted shortly before we had to submit our choice were extremely useful in helping us to narrow this down further and we finally reached our decision after discussing our thoughts with Evie.
Rio is a fantastic dog, he is well balanced and sociable with a great prey and food drive. Having been exposed to a great number of sights and sounds even before we got him makes him calm and confident - traits many people have remarked on when we are out and about with him. Although initially we were looking primarily for an 'active pet', Rio has just passed his assessment for training at our local IGP club and we are excited to see how far we can go on this journey with him!”

What can I say?
An exceptional experience from my first contact with Evie to the moment I could collect my beautiful puppy!
I had been watching Westmac breeding program for a while before I contacted and I have friends whom have dogs from Evie, so I knew that she was the breeder I would like a puppy from.
I waited a long time (well over a year in the end), but great things are always worth the wait!
Evie was in touch with me throughout, even letting me know about potential males she was considering. She let me know straight away after the pregnancy had been confirmed on scan and again when the birth had taken place.
I feel so very lucky to have my little girlie.
The lengths Evie goes to to ensure her puppies have the very best of everything, and I mean everything … You have to see it to believe it.
I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend Westmac German Shepherds, You will not be disappointed!

We can’t recommend Westmac highly enough. Evie’s knowledge of rearing pups, and her dedication to doing so was obvious from our earliest forays into Facebook, and only grew as we watched her rear the litter prior to ours.
Evie was supportive and available right from our first enquiry, and once we’d been informed we would likely have a pup from the N litter, we were joined up to a specific Facebook group for our litter, where very regular ( and heart bursting ) photo and info updates are posted.
Evie is passionate and highly professional in both reading her pups and dealing with their prospective parents. We feel very lucky to have found her, and could not be happier, or more blown away and in love, with our boy !
If you are looking for a working GSD specifically, or considering large working breeds generally, I suspect you will be very very happy with a Westmac dog, and with Evie’s care, communication and professionalism.
Ps triple your usual walk times though; you’ll be stopped every few minutes by admirers ! ( he’s as calm, considerate, intelligent and loving as he is handsome )”
